That is absofeckinlutely bonkers...
To be obese is to be fat beyond a defined limit.
A fat kid isnt always a concern but an obese kid is.
Where will this ludicrous politically correct mumbo jumbo end?
Humph

hang on a sec, i'm the last one to defend PC idiocy but the point here surely is that they are dropping the word 'obese' and substituting it with 'very overweight' - the latter i'd say is far more hard-hitting and self-explanatory, rather than 'obese', which is strictly a clinical medical term that is overused and misunderstood.
ie your 'child is very overweight' translates as 'your kid is a fat lard-****, please be a parent and do something about it ...' from a plain english perspective [and also thinking about parents who may not be the sharpest tools in the box - and there are plenty of them as our many youth societal ills demonstrate], it's long overdue.

Hang on... they want to get schools to tell parents how big their kids are. WTF?!
Where do they think the kids are when they're not at school?
Does any parent honestly not know this accurately enough already?
What next, what colour their hair and eyes are? How many limbs they've got?

may be they'll start including Photo IDs with the end of year report card so the parents can confirm whether they're talking about the right child.

But, back on track. A 'fat bar steward' is a 'fat bar steward'. Why change the word? It's still the same problem. If you're fat/obese get over it and do something about it. Or just say, 'bill hooks, I'm happy as I am'.

I just like the word fat - covers everything from slight overweight to very overweight.
Thinhk some people need to stop the pampering and say it like it is - he / she is a fatso and needs to lose some weight.

The trouble with 'BMI' is that it is not a very accurate indicator of health. For example, just after England had won the rugby world cup there was an article about BMI. Jonny Wilkinson was either 'very overweight' or 'obese' (I forget the fine detail) which is clearly nonsense.

You're here. Look at that word at the top. Digest. Second thoughts... too much digestion going on, just remember it
