hahahaha ive been dismissed
took them nearly 4 months, but i have finally had my contract of employment terminated today.
the reason?? unable to furfil contractural obligations due to capability reasons founded by my underlaying medical condition.
just this minute got back from work now. next up i guess is an impending appeal, and i suppose i had better find out about any benefits i may be entitled too or help finding a job at mcdonalds.
to say its the first time ive been formally dismissed from a job, im not really that bothered. what happens, happens i guess. maybe a trip to the jobcentre to find out about elegable help is in order

im just gonna have a quick scan on the jobcentre website see if anything is going work wise. also gonna go through and speak to them face to face to see what i may be temporarily entitled to regards financial "handouts" as my main concern is keeping the roof over my/natalies head.

The thought of turning down one job was bad enough, but two... It was quite funny listening to the manager really. He called to say I've definately got a job, but would I be prepared to take one with more responsibility as he's lost his second-in-command.
Hmm, do I take a cushy hourly-paid affair where I can take things easy and just bugger off when my new career start date comes through, or do I take the salaried job where I'll probably end up working all hours God sends for peanuts.
CoB can have the one I turn down

Does this guy know you would only be there until your career start date comes through?

A company I worked for dismissed somebody whilst they were in Hospital having treatment for cancer. All her appointments and time off ill failed the absence procedure. The company always took advice from ACAS, so I doubt there would have been any reprisals.

As long as you keep dialogue open with employers, most seem to be decent.

Sounds like it is a bit of good and bad news to you choc
Bad news that you have to look for work, but good news that a painful and drawn out issue is coming to an end. You knew it was coming by the sounds of it, so chin up.
Dont have any jobs going mate or else I would have offered you one.

Best thing is that even though I've told him what I'm not willing to do, he still wants me. Must be desperate!
Good luck with the hunt, CoB. There's always something out there. You'll soon be able to afford another Cinquecento

I've just accepted the cushy hourly affair, 10 Days until I start.
Wonder how long it will be until I'm bored of it? Christmas I reckon But I wonder at what point it will be until they are contacted by my next employers for a reference. That will be fun
