Making models or prototypes from foam
Has anyone here ever made models or prototypes from blue foam?
If so, where did you buy it from and what did you use to cut it to shape? Are there any special tricks I should look to try and perfect given this will be my first time of making a mock-up of something?
Thanks
Andy

I've not used it or know how useful it is but as a side note I use Inventor for 3D design and have had part printed in 3D with superb results. Depending on what you're doing this may be something to look at?

Used it many times for model making (design engineer).
treat it like wood when working it so use all the same tools and you're be fine.
As STi wanna subaru said get things rapid prototype these days and its quicker and better if you have a 3D model.
or try modeling clay

You can buy it in sheets from diy shops. Its possible to glue sections of the sheet together to form a thicker block if you need it.
Knives, saws, a surform, files and sandpaper of various grades all work fine.
