Default advice needed 2.1 DVD Home Cinema System

ok folks

have a samsung lcdtv 32" its fine but speakers are !"£$

i also have sky hd

looking for a cheap setup nothing to blow the walls down but better than what i have and needs to be compact

any ideas -

You can get Samsung 2.1 HCS's which work well, but for a negligible amount more, I'd go for the 5.1 Samsung system. I didn't think much to the speakers in the 32" Samsung I had, but I think they are ok in the 19".

Then again, you'll always tell the difference between using a HCS and in-built speakers. My 32" Viera blows away the Samsung but even that pales in comparrison when I turn on the Pioneer HCS which is connected to it.

reason for 2.1 is that it can all go beside tv on glass stand

compact to keep er indoor happy

These ONLY amp the DVD playback NOT the TV.

Go look for a simple amp; Richer Sounds will give reasonable advice

Actually, the specs list a 'Line-in' so the TV can be connected via the phono analogue audio out from the TV.

I agree however, he would be much better off with a decent AV receiver and quality 5.1 (or even 7.1 ) speaker set-up. But, wives aren't usually too accommodating on things like that Poo-pipe ? YES Hi-Fi equipment ? NO, NO, NO, NO
