Handed In My Notice....
Been working as an Estate Agent in central london since I graduated in 2004, had four great years working as an agent, but with the recent events things got really quiet and I lost interest in it so much so that i hated coming into work.
I'm going to rekindle my affair with I.T and see if i can enter the industry as IT technician. I havent found a job yet but I don't mind being unemployed for a month or two as I can do with the break...
So wish me luck guys & dolls

Good luck with your hunt for an IT job, they are very thin on the ground. My employer is downsizing and making redundancies at the moment, so there are not to many vacancies and lots of already highly skilled people searching for those vacancies.

You sure you want to do IT? Boring and soulless, do something more interesting/exciting instead
I guess that as an EA you have feathered you nest, taken a good few brown paper bags and built yourself up a big nest egg so live off that and train/learn to do something you will enjoy for the rest of your working life!

Good luck getting in IT! We've just chopped 15% of the workforce, and last time we took someone on the position could have been filled 1000 times over with people with vastly higher qualifications than was required!

I know it will be difficult to get a permanent IT job and I really don't want to start permanently therefore I will be doing contract jobs. I had a tour of the IT department of Goldman Sachs couple of weeks back and it looked very boring...GEEKS CORNER!
Working in EA you are involved heavily with the business but I realised with IT you are just the geeks in the other room. I did a four year degree on it thats why I just want to try it out.
If all else fails, I might wait a year or two and open up my own office. I think I can afford to do that
