had a long drawn out conversation with them when i dropped my usuall yellow pages advert, the yell.com man tried to get me to sign up, to be honest, 90% of people just google for something, so you would be better off having a quick website rank higher on the search engine then yell.com IMO
what i can say, is that in our sector, the amount of people advertising in this new yellow pages has went from 4 full pages of "car and commercial valeting" + a later section in "vehicle washes" to a combined section of them both, at only 2 pages !!!
proof as i expected, that people just do not use the services anymore and do a quick net search instead

I have a Yell book listing. They reckon that if people recommend you they remember your company name but not your number...so they look at Yell to find it.
