£38 for a bottle of 15yo Johnny Drum Kentucky Bourbon.
Anything over £4 for a single drink is obscene. I even object to bottled beers at around £3.50, as that's the equivalent of £7 a pint.

Mug lol, although been there and done it too when I ran our place, went a day paintballing, then back to the pub, I madly said fire in it's all on me, ******* cost me a fortune as there was 30 of them lol, I had also managed to get them all in to a place up toon free, so the drinking went on, I still have no idea how I got home but it was worth every penny

Other than champagne and expensive spirits I guess the most I paid for one drink was £14 for a cocktail at Claridges whilst waiting to dine in Mr Ramsays restaurant.
Damn I remember from my Cyprus days going into the turkish side and lira exchange rate being stupid - some like 50,000 lira for an ice cream lol. Glad to see its more sensible now

I've paid £300-400 for a bottle of spirits, around the same for champagne, upto £100 for a shot of cognac in london clubs/bars many times....[/QUOTE]
Just shows everything about london is overpriced, and the numpties keep paying it!

Agree, i've had a glass of Remy Martin Louis XIII which cost something like £120 i think. Ludicrous. Yes it was nice, but no better than a decent XO for about 1/10th the price. But i guess it's nice to know i've tried it.
My record so far, £435 for a bottle of Champagne.

What a total and utter waste of money no matter how much income you can **** away.....I know of plenty of worthy charities that would do alot better with that cash

Exactly. If anyone is ever impressed from reading the papers about how much was spent on posh Champagne at a party or whatever, don't be. It's one of the world's leading scams in my opinion.
SiPie, where do you draw the line though? Would you go up to a guy who had just bought a £100k+ car and tell him what charities he could have donated to instead?

True, ChefDude, up to a point though. There's definitely a point where excessive expenditure is frivolous, certainly in terms of alcoholic drinks. The 80s though, you had to love it.
