Got a decked area in my garden and at the back of it is a triangular shaped area that we currently use as a flower bed. Me and the mrs have decided we would like a pond in this area, but it has to be elevated as we have a newborn child (3 wks old) and we dont wont him falling in etc etc.
Does anyone know of anywhere where you can get deep triangular shaped containers from so I can just in effect drop it in the gap?
I have decided a container is the best way to do it as the height I want it to be, there will be no support for pond lining etc
Cheers

Ger a bricky to build a double skinned pond. That way you can have it as high/low as you wish. The prefab ponds cost a fortune and you would still need to hide the ugly black outer of the lining with cladding or something similar.
The other way is a ground level pond that is fenced off with decorative metal fencing.

cheers Bob
Was thinking of a brick pond, but there isnt any area as such to work in due to the decking, thats why I am think a pre fabbed triangular container

Railway sleepers for walls, lined with marine plywood (wont rot) and then just drape a flexible liner inside
Consider a heavy guage wire mesh over the top (child safety).

How old does a child have to be before it climbs up onto a wall, walks along and falls in? 18 months + ?
So raised or otherwise you will need a fence that is 110% secure or a metal mesh over the top.
Or leave it for 5 years. dl
PS. I'd go for ground level with mesh but I don't know where you get these from. If it's just under the surface it will look fine and stop Mr Heron.

I dug out a hole and ordered some fairly serious fibreglass to cover it, then covered that with pebbles then small stones, to create a safe pond and waterfall combo! The fibreglass was about £90.
There's a couple of pics in view my scooby if you're remotely interested, as I can't add pics at work. All I've done since is covered the bits of pond liner to tidy it up.

Cheers, it looks better now it's all finished, but I needed something childproof and it seemed like the best option.
I found a local company that made and cut the fibreglass grill, they did say it was a bit of a strange request and looked at me like I was some kind of weirdo!
