m8 Galway is classed as the e.u , but i would double check with your courrier as that sounds a weeeee bit pricey ( you could deliver it yourself and have a weekend at the races and still come home with change out of £330 )

Ive checked on Parcel Farce website, and entered the correct details, the reason it is so high is down to volumetric weight and is not in the zone for major discount
the weight of the item is approx 8kg but is over a metre in length, ive got it down to 130 quid cheapest Global Priority, I would ask the guy at work to take it, as he goes to Dublin every weekend, but I doubt he would carry it
Its on ebay, and the user is just a load of numbers, but his email address is the NUI but he has no feedback, he hasnt paid, so I think I might just contact him first, I did specify only UK prices though, but stupidly left the worldwide option ticked

Does seem outrageously expensive, I thought at first you must have been sending a load of housebricks. I recently bought a motorcycle exhaust from America which boxed was probably about 8Kg and was around 110cm x 50cm x 30cm and the sender paid $90 (£60) to send it, and I got fleeced £36 in charges when it arrived. But that's still less than £100.

Sonic,
I'd recommend using these guys.
Beatties Distribution Services
I live in Northern Ireland and have used them to ship IT hardware all over the UK and Ireland. They are definately not hard to pay.

Galway is in Zone 5, so it goes on volumetric weight
I once sent some wheels from Warrington to Essex, 4 of them about 20 kilos each, cost 20 quid and they got there the next day, its just that that place is a bit out fo my way now to get to
Parcel Force are stupidly overpriced unless you have an account with them,
