First heard it a few months back and heard it again yesterday on kiss. Here are the clues

1) Sounds like a black guy singing

2) It sounds very soulful. There is a tiny bit of rap in it, but not dirty rap, quite soulful rap like Wycliffe?

3) Main lyric goes something like ' I'm begging you, begging you, put your loving hand out'

last hit he had in the UK must have been the theme from Grease on 1978/9

If it's a cover, it might be this Frankie Valli /The Four Seasons - Beggin' (Pilooski re-edit), but I think it could well be this Madcon "Beggin" as it's got a bit of a rap in it.
