My Dog was hit by a Bus this Morning!!!!!!!!!
Whilst in the park play football with her, I kicked the ball and a cat came out from under a bush, well that was it she was off, No matter what I did she would not come back, then I heard a thud, and the bus stopped dead, me thinking the worst I ran to find her but could not, and then she appears behind me dazed battered and shocked, with a few cuts, my mobile was at home on charge and I had to run all the way home to get help whilst a friend held Ellie for me, we rushed her to the vets who went right over her and he said she has had a very lucky escape, she is now asleep behind me on the floor, the Driver whom I did not speak too my friend said was brilliant, (I am waiting for a call from the bus company) I'm still in shock and can't beleive Ellie is going to be OK, I called the police who were also brilliant, just need a very large drink now for my nerves!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers

Glad your Dogs OK Colin.
Think every dog owner worries about this happening. I know I do. He's well trained but it only takes once for him to ignore me and shoot across a road...
What type of dog do you have?

Glad he is alright. Our cat was very badly hit by a car one night and had water on the brain as well as a broken hip.
He recovered completely and lived for another 15 years until he was 22.

Colin, glad she is OK but I'm not even going to start on dogs off lead.
A properly trained dog will stop dead in its tracks if commanded to do so. However, if it happens faster than actually gives the owner time to command then its prey drive wins every time.

I guess it can't have been the first bus that came along that clobbered her, because the two following right behind would have surely polished her off!
Glad she's OK.

Glad the dog is ok. Im not gonna preach about leads and control as its the wrong time, but Spoon up there makes some good points (as usual)
Even if someone on the bus was hurt from the sudden braking etc.
Fingers crossed for a full and fast recovery. Im off to the vets now too, but only to get stamps before he goes kennels on Friday.

Now thats spooky:
Boxers getting run over by cars is seemingly a bit of an occurance round here.
My mum's partner's Boxer had a "mad" moment (as they sometimes do) ran across a nearby dual carriageway...and was hit by a car. Then limped back in to the house whith what would be his tail between his legs (if he had a tail ).
Lucky dog, escaped with just bruises and shock. He never ran off again though
Other boxer was not so fortunate: My uncle's Boxer got out of the pub when a delivery driver left the door open (pub was shut - dogs normally kept in the living quarters upistairs when its open). Ran out into the road on which is a blind cross-roads...and was hit by a skip lorry.
He survived, but now has three legs and had to have his knackers removed as they kept getting squished when he sat down
Doesn't run off now either, and he can still run - just.

When my old lab Harry was a pup my wife was doing exactly that, playing with a ball in the park. For no reason at all he turned and ran through a gap in the fence, straight onto the road into the path of a concrete mixer truck. He went straight under it and out the back and the worst he had was an oil mark down his back!!
Only lost him last year ages 16 and a half.
Dave.

Not any more I agree whole heartedly with those comments. My dog was frantic tonight because some idiot had his staffie off the lead. Would it hell go away. He just stood there like a flaming goon, too
Anyway, sorry about that.

Last time I rang for car insurance they never asked me if I had any SN infractions either.
Oh and if a dog comes towards yours off lead then let your dog have the slack it requires to do his job. It's getting more difficult on a daily basis now to walk ours due to people assuming their tiny dog is no trouble off the lead.
My eldest hound walked about with a dog in his mouth when it came rushing towards him. Don't risk injuries to your dog for the sake of one off the lead.

Thank you but really I don't get penalised in real life for having a negative rated post.
I find it pathetic when a comment is correct, so feel justified in reversing where I can

Cost me an extra £100
