Default Behaviour at the check-out ?

Why is it people (couples clearly) feel the need to come round the back of you, whilst your bagging up and punching numbers, and start opening carriers for THEIR shopping- in anticipation of making a fast gettaway??

anybody here ( maybe im the weird one )

Some people just dither.

I take it you are a ditherer

If the next shoppers food is being put through the scanner, the previous customer should be off-ski with her shopping by then.

I like my personal space. At checkouts or even just a the Deli counter, if people stand too close to me I hate it. Hate it even more when you move, and they move with you. Had one woman practically lent up against me at the deli counter once. A simple "do you mind" got me the look of her just being told I was a pedophile. The hate in her eyes.

At checkout, they stand right next to you when you're filling your filling your bags. Why? Feckoff.

Here's something that winds me up.

The petrol cashier asking you to enter your pin, one nano second before it says "enter your pin" knowing full well you have your index finder primed and eyes are on full alert ready for the screen to advise you to do so.

next time he says it, i'm gonna say. Yes i can ****ing read you halfwit jobsworth mother****er...!!!!

Dazza (getting thrown out of a shell garage near you soon!!!)

Go to Waitrose instead. Much nicer place with plenty of eye candy females on the checkouts and MILF's doing their shopping! I hate going anywhere else now lol

Waitrose in Worthing , whilst being just a 5 minute walk down the road, and great food, has more of a GIMDWNLTF clientel.

LOL, the "Daily Mail" of supermarkets.

There is one in Witney where I used to live.

We do Tesco as its the closest to us. Ours has just been increased in size with another level. It has those flat escalator things. My daughter and one of her cousins, I allowed to do a tour of the escalators up and down while I was looking at the mags. My daughter being an only child and not used to being set up by siblings was talked into pressing the STOP button by her cousin.

Cousin runs up to me pointing out my daughters mister meaner followed by lots of unhappy faces and looks of "irresponsible parenting" aimed squarely at me because when the escalators stop, you can't push the trollies up them.

Every little helps!

Hi Splicer

I'm another who HATES my personal space invaded, it's bad enough having someone looking over your shoulder, but I get a little annoyed when hit by baskets or rammed by a trolly, and I don't dordle either.

That said, if I ever go on a till at work, I only go on as cover when busy, and it does irritate me when people dither on for ages, for instance, it's like you could easily pack your bag while I scan stuff through, rather than wait til it's all through, take an eternity to pay for it, then pack it afterwards, while you can see the rest of the queue getting restless so to speak.

Hi Lisa!

I was on the one basket till today, and an old bird came up and dumped her basket on the rack waiting to be served while my colleague was still serving a customer!

And then you get the ones who decide they want to pay with all their loose change, fannying about for about 5 minutes (while the queue is getting longer and crosser behind them), then find they haven't got enough so they give you a note or pay by card. JUST GIVE ME THE NOTE TO START WITH, FFS!!!!!!!

What annoys me is when you stand behind a woman at the checkout queue for 10 minutes, they get served and pack, and then when get told the total proceed to spend another 5 minutes digging in the handbag for the purse then rifling through the purse for a credit card! Damn, get it ready!! You just spent 10 minutes doing nothing, it's not like it's a surprise you have to pay is it??

If I don't have much I usually go to the info desk, ask some inane question, then say, oh, could you put these through while I'm here please? They always do

Then there are those, who once you've rang their stuff through, and they're about to pay, decide they want more shopping, and upon their return with the extra, try and jump the queue.

Or the ones who get pick and mix (yuk), don't use their noggin to actually weigh them and get the little ticket so it can be rung through (funnily enough the scales are right beside the sweets), so another hold up, while either they or I have to go and get them weighed. How the **** they think they can pay for something when nobody has a clue what it costs is beyond me.

I think at times people should have a license to go shopping.

The worst thing is the tw@tty people who buy a paper and some milk on a card! When your on your way to work you dont have time to wait for these idiots!

It takes longer to process the transaction than it does to grab the items!

Surely they must have a quid knocking around in the ashtray or glovebox, or learn to carry a bit of change!
