Drivers rejected an improved offer of a 6.8% pay rise, which would have increased drivers' average salaries from £36,500 to around £39,000 a year.
Not a bad wage for an unskilled job

He tells people that Labour have done a good job
He tells the public 'most people will be better off under the new road tax'
He tells the public 'in real terms motoring has gotten cheaper'
This man and goverment is either severely deluded or must think the general public are thick 'probably both'
Wake up and smell the coffee Gordo

I'll be off to the Shell garage tonight then as it's the only petrol station for a few miles and it's always full at the best of times and running out of petrol let alone if there is panic buying for the weekend

And then in comparison...When was the last time you heard of a policeman or a soldier being killed?
A police Sgt is paid around £33k pa, as does an Army Sgt.
Far more skilled, more important and vital than a trucker with a hazmat license

Plus he's got LOADS of experience manoeuvering a huge truck full of fuel around Britain's crowded roads and in and out of fuel stations.
Plus he know how to offload safely, and avoid the forecourt fireball
Don't knock these guys, they are at the top of their trade, and they also work pretty long hours.......
