Default Apartment expenses

I've seen an apartment block near to where i work which has some vacancies for renting out and might be interested.
Apart from paying the rent what other bills would there be?
I know gas, eleccy, water would be unless they're included in the rent but not sure what else, any ideas?

thanks

Council tax, service charge (for communal facilities e.g. lift), telephone, sky, adult channel..... etc.

Leases typically run at 6 months but it's all a case of seeing what's in and what's out, I once rented a gaff and offset my rental by sub-letting it's parking space!

A service charge for maintence of communal areas and the external of the building, not sure if this would include council tax having never lived in an apartment

I think service charges like this would all be included in rent?? Obviously rental agreement would list things out. Need to add TV licence and prolly a month's rent as downpayment.

Oh and you might want to buy some food every now and again

Nope - in yorkshire, it's probably just a posh name for a flat

Not all flats have ground rental or service charges, i don't have to pay anything on mine. But it is owned and not rented and there are only the 6 flats mingled in with houses, so there isn't a lot of communal space.
Also many don't have a gas supply so you have stupid storage heaters instead of radiators which are quite expensive to run. My Leccy bill in my 1 bed flat is more than what it was when i had my 3 bed det. house.
Also with renting i think you usually have to pay 2 months rent in advance (depending on your landlord) which is a bit of a bummer at first.
Good luck............

mine is 500/month + bills and council tax for a 2 bed apartment
no gas as everything electric, 500/month includes maintence charge, freesat sky is already wired up

100 month all inclusive sounds like heaven i was paying 60 quid a week when i was living at home with the parents
