Default Wayne & Waynetta - Sheffield

Was travelling on the Sheffield parkway, to turn right onto the M1, I took the right hand lane and went around the roundabout in the same lane, just as I was turning left (into the right hand slip of the M1) Waynetta drives across my path and I have to take evasive action to miss her.

Anyhow, Wayne is now holding his fists up to me in stationary traffic, telling me how he is going to kill me etc....

I try and shout to him that Waynetta should be in the right hand lane if turing right!! not travel in the feckin left hand lane all the way around a roundabout

Wayne, still continues to shout abuse at me for "endangering his families lives" and continues to tell me he is going to kill me (at this point I asked him if his door was locked as he couldn’t kill me from his car), anyhow got pissed off with this and drove off.

So if you are reading this Wayne, I apologise if I cased you delay on the way to the Giro Office, or caused undue ware on your metro's rusting brakes, it was clearly my fault for driving in the correct lane....

Unfortunatly gazza, although i sympathise with you,

wayne & waynetta, are actually in the right.

You can turn right on a roundabout, whilst being in the outside lane.

its a daft law that should be repealed, but what do you expect from the car hating establishment

When taking an exit to the right or going full circle, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise
  • signal right and approach in the right-hand lane
  • keep to the right on the roundabout until you need to change lanes to exit the roundabout
  • signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you want

Gazza is right in a way but there are some stupid roundabouts that say you can as the arrows mark as such.

We have a local roundabout where you can use both lanes to go straight on, the amount of times ive been sideswiped by someone turning right on the outside is pathetic, even moreso the drivers who think they're in the right.

Nearly lost a front end thanks to a dozy bint being blinkered.

Mart, they haven't changed it, it's always been the way gazza posted.

You'd think with the theory being so difficult they would be able to put it into practice and know which lane to take.

This is the same situation as Wayne (sure his surname is Carr), How can anybody think that they should turn right in the left lane of a major motorway junction ????

You should try driving in Spain where lanes on roundabouts mean **** all, they just point the car at it and go round Still it's a more relaxed place to drive if you just adopt their pull out in front of you etc attitude, plus LHD cars are far more natural feeling to drive

I loved driving in Spain. There were some great roads in Tenerife where you could just turn left across oncoming traffic and you had right of way. I always loved the way that to slow down on the motorway, they would indicate left but not apply the brakes.
I think it must have been a fore-runner to collective energy recovery

Ahh, so it was you I nearly rammed into on an island when the brakes on my Scoob failed

(well, I didn't know they were duff until I needed to do an emergency stop )

Maybe I should be thanking you then...

I still remember doing that one in a Citroen Light Fifteen with very heavy steering. It was an experience alright! The young lady I was with said"You have to know the width of your car!"
