Default nother Ebay stupidity

How rediculous:

Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers.

*
Buyers should leave honest Feedback without the fear of receiving negative or neutral ratings. Read more
So just how are you meant to warn others that this person is a waste of time? Won my car they ignored all correspondance. Idiots.

can also see the other side of the coin, but....

I'm not defending ebay (they're big and ugly enough to do that themselves) but it seems that whatever they do, no one is happy.

How do you protect buyers from rogue traders? How to you protect sellers from fraudulent buyers? I hear a lot fo complaining, but no one actually has any answers.

I see you've judiciously edited the email they sent:

Now you get free purchase protection when you pay with PayPal.*

Now you can read detailed ratings for sellers so you can see how other buyers rate their service.

We now have a dedicated team you can call on 020 8080 2105.
So, they've answered a lot of buyers issues (or at least tried to). Now I guess they just need to keep the sellers happy. My guess is the answer to that will be "Accept Paypal, follow the guidelines to the letter and you won't get defrauded" which is a pain in the **** but I think covering you're own **** is essential in business anyway.

I didnt edit anything. It was when i tried to leave feedback to "allow other users to know what this person was like".

Luckily i've found some hidden listing feature which allows u to block potential ***** Still... £13 down the toilet.

You should be allowed to neg them once a non-paying dispute is done?

OK, I'll forgive you

I'm currently trying to design a system that allows you to send 30,000 volts to another persons mouse via the internet. I think there's a huge market!

Nope I'm too untrusting. They coulda got this person to bid the price up (cos they actually bidded against themselves raising the price each time) thinking if i did second chance they would get it nice and cheap.

I have thought about this .... Leave a positive feedback, but write it up as really negative. I know it will not show as a Neg but you will have written it on there, and maybe they may complain to Ebay that you have done it.

I considered that but it means they are going from 0 feedback to 1.

I also find it unfair that you cannot specify that ppl with 0 feedback cannot bid (when it is an expensive to list item like this). -1 was the closest to 0 it lets you do. Shower of ****es.

just report it as an unpaid item and get your listing + final value fees back. Yes, it's a pain in the ****, but at least it wont have cost you anything (apart from time)

maybe that's to be fair to new buyers though. Everyone has o to start with, but -1 is a different matter.

So why not limit the bid value to £10 until you have completed say 5 transactions. That way minimum risk for the sellers and less chance of the rougues botthering as they have the hassle of buying a number of cheap items first.
