Default Does anyone know anything about Secondments ?

I'm just wondering if there is a legal amount of time you can be doing a job rated at a higher pay grade than you are at ?

I thought that secondment was about getting further industry experience, so that you can further improve primarily your employer's interests, and secondly, your own professional development.

If the secondment is technically in a higher paid position, that's the luck of the draw.

I was going on secondment this year, but due to my own work commitments, I can't go, however, the pay issue was the same (if I'm reading your post correctly - and it is quite early!! )

Yeah I mean don't get me wrong getting experience and working toward a better job is great ... but training finished months ago. ... 9 months ago .. I've been doing the same work as everyone else ..

There must be a legal requirement to increase my wage or put me back

There is some legislation around secondments, i'm fairly certain the timeline is 2 years, however, there is a few caveats that companies use to get out of this like the position isn't actually permanent etc etc..

Worth calling ACAS maybe?

I thought the likes of NHS & Council's secondment meant they diverted you off to something else like 'special projects' because they need you out of the way for a while

I know you dont work for the Council or NHS, I was merely making a point that secondment in those industries usually means what I put so back at you
