Could you pass yourdriving test again?
I have been driving 18+ years now, no theory test in my day, picked up 6 points in that time, no bans no arrests lol....
But with everything you have learnt and "perfected" in your years of driving. Has it made you a better or worse driver, and would your habits be frowned on by the DSA ?
I reckon I have retained enough basic skill to pass again, just..... could you ?

Not a great driver but a safe driver compared to some muppets out there, I think I would pass again but would consciously miss out the bad habits

How things have changed out there eh.
As for the bad habit bits, im not too sure how many I have picked up over the years. I will have to do more research into it. lol
Push pull....I still do that sometimes lol.

Depends on how strict they want to be regarding hands on the steering wheel (not crossing over etc) handbrake on at a stop sign, being in nuetral at traffic lines etc etc. Loads of stuff we do everyday that a 17yr old wouldnt get away with on the test so always wondered if an experienced driver would.

only ever had 3 *touch wood* got them about 15 years ago (33 in a 30) Still that's not bad going considering the huge amount of mileage I used to do. (only do about 200 miles a week now )
I've still got a big pink/green paper licence, no funky card for me

17yrs of driving and not a single point ever .
Been lucky in a few situations though.
I've passed harder tests (driving) in the last few years so reckon I'd pass.

Since passing my car test I've taken (and passed) my class C and C+E tests. Both are much more difficult than the car test, so I reckon I could pass the car test again.
I'm planning on doing my bike test (again), so will need to swot up on the highway code for the theory test. I'll also have to take the hazard perception test for the first time too.

Ignore me, my maths are ****! I've only had a full licence for 19 years, 1month lol Pete is back to being oldest
I got my 3 points (sp30) on the 21/11/1990 in a village called Auchtermuchty (apparently all the sheep were all away to market that week and the police were bored!)

I passed my test in 1985, and it was very different then, and to date have had zero points on my license. I still have the old green license issued in 1985. I think that I would pass again if I tried today, although it would be a concious effort to avoid some bad habbits.

Prob not due to bad habits as mentioned. Always forget to do my seatbelt up until Im actually moving, not using handbrake / neutral at red lights, hands on steering wheel.
If you include the theory test I bet not many on here could pass it without some practice exams and revisions before hand

Passed bike test at 16 (moped), bike test at 17 and car test at 23. That's over 20 years ago ... But passed IAM test on bike before passing car test and a lot more recently took IAM test in car and was an IAM Observer for a while (100% pupil pass rate).
So, no chance of passing a normal test now ......
Dave
PS: also got a clean license!!

Well done all who have stayed point free
I had a paper licence til a few months ago. When I paid for 4 photo's to renew my passport, and thought there is no way im letting ANY go to waste, so sent off for a new licence too lol.
As for the theory, I dont think its that hard tbh, with some common sense in there of course. There are however a few questions that the more experienced driver might have a different opinion on the answer.

I certainly would, and did recently. I'm a fully qualified ADI Passed the Pt.2 in 2006 which is a 1 hour test during which you are allowed 6 minors.

Not knowing you, you may well do, but don't assume it's as easy as it used to be. The DSA are VERY **** these days and will fail anyone at the drop of a hat.
