Talking companion planting, what works and what doesnt?

i have read up on what to plant with what to deter pests. i tried it last year and had some success but i want to hear what works for others.

the bugs are starting to appear

i am growing a lot of fruit and veg and millions of plants so i expect i am on the greenfly radar now

Hi Sara!

Bob Flowerdew has done a couple of books on companion planting. I can't stop now, but if you look on amazon you'll probably find them. I've got a couple of his and they were useful when we had the allotment. Also, plant by moon phases............no, seriously.

hi nutcase

ive seen what the people look like that use the moon phases
is he the gay looking one with a ponytail and pink gloves?

i am having a bash with french marigolds atm

looking for first hand success as all the books contradict each other.

Yeah, he's the one!

As for the hippy types .........I know what you mean, but it does work. They did an experiment on one of the garden programmes (might have been the Kew Gardens one).

French marigolds are good.........Tagetes are the ones you need. Also, plant onions amongst carrots.
