Default Ash Trees

I seem to have quite an abundance of these sprouting up all over the back garden and front garden, largely due to the huge one I have at the bottom of the garden

Is there anything I can do to get rid of them, once they start taking root they really do take root, pulling them up takes quite some doing (if you dont manage to pull the bark off instead)

I would try some industrial strength weedkiller but I have a cat & dog so whatever (bleach/flamethrower/posion/etc) I use needs to be pet friendly

I do that, but sometimes I dont get to see some of them straight away, have got three now in the thorny bush at the front that I have only just noticed and are too big to get the roots out

Can you carefully dig up some of the smaller ones, put them in pots, bring them over to scoobylive & I'll take them home & plant them?

If you do chop them down, they are very good in woodburners and log fires since the smoke does not mess up the chimney like pinewood etc. does.

ive got a similar problem sonic with maple and cherry trees. its easy to get the saplings with the mower but i have found loads of well developed maple babies growing among the conifers. the conifers have nearly all gone now but the saplings wont stop growing. i have tried using a spray that kills the root, just got to wait 28 days to see if it works
cherry trees have been a pain too. cant think where they have all come from

I rescued a little ash tree seedling from the gutters of a house I was cleaning about four years ago. It's coming along great in one of the tubs in our garden

When it gets too big though it's getting planted in a field some distance away from our house, the bu66ers can push your house over
