It was interesting but I don't think he should have mentioned chechnya without explaining more about the History of the conflicts in the area. He kind of made half hearted efforts to explain a few anecdotes but left me with no real understanding of the conflicts between the different tribes and Russia.

Not watched yesterdays episode yet.
Made me laugh last week at the end when he was having a massage and the guy slapped his **** cheeks! Dimbleby was making some right noises.
Hope he visits some of the sh1tholes I worked at back in the 90s.

I like Russia ! it is an amazing country. It is just so remote from everything we have in the West. Its like stepping back in time when you come here !

We designed and supplied process equipment for 3 baby food factories. One in Novokuznetsk (Western Siberia), one in Saratov and the other Kamyshinskij.
Novokuznetsk was the worst place on earth. It was a steelwork town so loads of sulphur in the air. I remember the grit in my teeth and the black stuff coming out of my nose every time I blew it!! Also the bottled water was salty and the food was dodgy. Lost loads of weight out there and only went for a week. Most of the women had a mouth full of gold teeth too! Lol
Saratov and Kamyshinskij were both on the Volgar river. At one point it was 6 miles wide so it looked more like the sea than a river. Had good times there.
I love the country as you say it's like stepping back in time.
Moscow is brilliant. Women there are fantastic. Had my fair share of them too
Where have you been gravelexpress?

I was working in Kazakhstan for 2 1/2 years it was based in a camp in the Tengiz desert, i visited Atyrau, Shimkent and Almaty.
Kazakhstan the whole country is full of people with gold teeth, it used to make me laugh because some expats commented that it was a sign of wealth... which we both know it is the exact opposite. Their are so many people here with nothing.
I am now in Moscow i like it a lot The girls are very nice here ! they are just so much more like girls are meant to be!!
I have only visited St Petersburg on business and made a trip to Petrozavodsk which is on the banks of lake Onegin.
I am destined to go to a few more places, i am hoping Astakhan and Volvograd. I took time time to learn to read and talk some Russian. I want to make a trip to Kiev in Ukraine also.
I can imagine the places you describe !

We had a couple of lessons in Russian language but I can't remember much now. I recall 34 letters in their alphabet!
I envy you being in Moscow. Have you been to the Casino club boat on the river or Nightflight club?
I always stayed in Ukraina (one of the 7 Stalin buildings). There was a club behind it with access via the back lobby.
