Ok I need some advice from you seasoned commuters.

Tomorrow morning I have to travel from Swindon to Brentwood (CM13 1AL) for a meeting starting at 11:00. Tomtom says that trip (M4 then M25 clockwise) should take me 2h7m in ideal conditions. However I know that the traffic in this area can be horrendous in rush hour.

Any idea how long extra I should allow for the trip? Although I have to be there at 11:00 I don't mind leaving super early if it'll mean I miss sitting in traffic and can sit in a coffee shop somewhere instead.

Any suggestions?

Also, even though it's longer distance, would going anti-clockwise round the M25 be faster (less traffic?)?

dont go the long way round, i.e. thro surrey/kent Dartford Tunnel area has long term road works and they can get well mucky
