Default Weekends away at the coast ?

I'm looking to get away over the summer to the coast with the lads for a few weekends away, does anyone have any reccomendtions on where to go apart from the obvious of blackpool and newquay (which is a bit to far for a weekend), it's got to have a decent nightlife though, and hopefully not a **** fest !

I've been to bloody loads of places over the years.

I'd steer clear of Newquay tbh, well i didn't like it anyway.

Bournemouth is a good night and even Weymouth even though its quieter.
They're a bit weird and nutty in Weymouth though

Heard Whitby is great but personally never been, as is Skeggy.

Best place i'd say is Brighton seeing as the GF lives down there.

Great vibe just be careful you dont stray into Buftyville by accident

Blackpool is one of the grimmest places on earth. But there is a time when you want "grim".

Brighton is 20 mins along the coast the road from me. It is a superb place ( think London on the coast). But, make sure you all take ID, no matter how old you are, because as a group of lads, if you haven't got photo ID , you aren't getting in anywhere, and some places won't let you in at all.

Newcastle is a great night out - If a little cold

I get abit sick of the blackpool is abit grim/ ****hole/ full of fighting bla bla bla
i run my own hotel there on weekends, i have all groups, singles, stags, hens,
couples, old people, been there for allmost two years and i can honestly say 99% of the people who come love the place and have a great night out with no fighting

blackpool gets alot of bad press and tv
iv been out around the town about ten times and never seen a fight, its like any town on a saterday night with thousands of people in, there is gona be some trouble but just try to avoid it, or dont start it
ok rant over

People always ask the same question, do you get any trouble ?
and my answer is yes...... of the couples they go out get pissed and come back for an argument iv only ever had to kick one person out and that was because he was hitting his girlfrend  and she left with him

the people i have had in 99% of them have been very nice people and we have made some good freinds over the last couple of years

I've been to Blackpool countless times - I've got a very good friend that live up there.

The people are fine, just people out having a good time. It's the actual place that needs about £100 Million spending on it - It's like a snapshot of 1960. It really is a very shabby place.

I was hoping that the supercasino (when they were going ahead) was going to go to Blackpool, because if there is one place that desperatly needs, and deserves rejunvination, it's Blackpool.

they are spending millions on the sea front now and over the next 4 years they need to chase up some of the owners of the big hotels and arcades and make them reinvest money some how
i know what your saying, they should have spent the money 20 years ago

normally i hate blackpool but we went with the sister in law and all the kids and had a right laugh.
it does need tarting up quite a bit,
but we went to southport a while ago and thought that that had gone downhill.
lord street has a b and m bargains on it now.

llandudno is ok.
J4cko is quite fond of anglesey, rather than getting pissed you could try more of a walking and fishing type holiday, after all yo could get pissed anywhere.
