Acts of God?
#1
I saw on the news last night a story about a woman who had been driving her car when the gales brought the branch of a tree down on to her car. The branch had caused a lot of damage to the car and had come very close to injuring her.
However, her insurance company are refusing to pay up, claiming that it was an "Act of God". I'll certainly be checking my policy for how they treat weather related damage, but it did sound like they were using the slightest of excuses to get out of paying.
I wonder how long it will be before someone running into you is treated as an "Act of God"?

Eh?
Sounds a bit odd... Surely comprehensive cover would apply in this circumstance? If not, and the incident occurred at home, would the house-hold contents insurance cover it for accidental damage??

Now there's an interesting theological arguement for the High-Court!
Case for claimant: "M'lud, we demand that the insurance company pay our client in full for all damages and contest that 'An Act of God' is no arguement for non-payment, due to the unproven nature of such an individual existing..."
