The criminals can go fully auto if they wish. The wrong sort of weapons are easily avaliable if you know where to look. I think you will find more situation like this as some criminals get more bold, some might even come in from abroad and are much more used to truning to violence and guns...
What CO19 have, and this is their best weapon are very highly trained officers who undergo rigerous selection and ongoing training and assements and they are amongst the best in the world.
As Kiwi says, thank heaven guns where banned in the UK or we might have an increase in gun related crime - another prime example of a knee-jerk sticking plaster policy/law that has failed miserably.

I understand that they now have the 7.62 H&K which does give good penetration, abeit the semi auto version.

19 is no secret number these days, its the other numbers that baffle people, and if you know what some of those are, the question could be asked why a lot more lol.
Having been out with a torjan unit a few months back, looking for someone, its pretty impressive to see how they operate. I sure as hell would not wanna be on the run from them.
Saw 2 of them chasing a guy down on foot last year, the 3rd giving chase in the car. Looked like something out of The Bill, but I pity him when they caught him.
As for the USA, certainly in Florida they news is peppered with gun incidents... most ending... "the gunman was eventually shot and killed as he..." They dont make a secret of it, and I have to say speaking to a friend who is a cop out there, he still feels that gun crime is not as rampant as most want to believe.

Narp - there's no decent pub round there to hang out in, apart from the cooper on Flood Street, a bit far away..
funny most weird deaths/incidents in Chelsea are folks falling off/out of hotels and flats..

"I was in a changing room and a lady came in very panicked and crying and screaming a little bit.
"It seemed that her ex-partner was the one shooting - I don't know if he was shooting at her.
"It seemed that an argument started and, as she put it, it got out of hand.

Co19 were never that covert, the met have always been quite open about their existance, mainly as a public assurance / anti threat tactic.
You still don't want to get on their wrong side, they are very highly trained.
The officers identity on the other hand are closely guarded. Chances are if you see an uncovered face its not a Co19 officer.

Yup stormed the building, and now dead.
Ho hum, dont play with guns, and dont shoot at CO19.
Good job lads, sleep well
Agreed about the comments about CO19 too, would not like to try my hand with them.
I wish they had chosen another eye witness to loop the footage with.
