Recently had Sky+ installed and want to transfer some of my recorded programs on to DVD. I'm try to connect a PC external USB recorder to the Sky+ box via the USB socket on the front of the box. The Sky+ box does not recognise the DVD recorder being present. Has anyone recorded off the box on to a PC DVD recorder this way before and if you so any help would be gratefully appreciatted.

You can't do it that way. You either hook up a standalone DVD recorder to the sky+ or capture the programes to a PC via a analog/s-video capture card, then convert n burn to DVDR.

Thanks for that, it's what I suspected so time to start shopping for a new dvd recorder for the TV then.
