I'm after a crash helmet for this years race season, but I want a Simpson Super Shark which is £790 in this country! I've got in touch with an American company who sell them for $650, which is around £460. But it won't export.

Any ideas on what I could do or who I could speak to?

You could get it sent to someone you know in the US, that way you avoid the tax also..........

Don't know anybody in the States that's my problem. I just wanted to know if anybody has bought an American smack hat off the net before?

We get so ripped off in this country on safety equipment made for the circuit it's a joke.

One company has got in touch and asked where in the UK I'm from so I might be on a winner... at last. If it can sort me out I'll post the web address later.

It deals in Simpson and other American brands along with lots of Kart gear, but the crash helmets are cheap.

just remember if you buy a helmet outside the uk it may not have th BS safety kitemark on it which will make it illegal on uk roads and banned from racetracks
