I find American express platinum customer service to be consistently exceptional.
British Airways gold card line- when its good its very good, but when you get some berk it can be very bad....er....no thanks.
Worst?
Citibank- by a country mile, then Barclaycard, with nationwide coming in a close third. Two of those are in bangalore also....total pain

Dont get me started on Barclays !!
Not Barclaycard I know but Barclays as a whole !!
Last week we go into the bank with the guy buying the car, and pay in a large sum, no worries.
Later that day I go into the bank again with my mum, she wants to transfer it to my account (Natwest)
Cant do it without ID. Now she is 70, no passport, no drivers licence. So in their eyes NO ID.
Being a customer who was thrown over to them during the big Woolwich buy out, they also dont have any verification details on file !! Smart eh.
Their solution, bring her cheque book into the branch. Now cheque are not accepted widely these days, they can be stolen, and offer no proof of identity... So why the hell would they ask her to do that.
The most worrying part is, they claim they dont even have her signature on file..... so how do they verify and honour cheques !
