Default Crime figures dropping

I was interested to see in last night news that the national crime figures as a whole have dropped.

We get the Tory leader showing he's just as daft stating crime is up, he is in touch, not.

The policeman attending with so called party leader agreeing with the figures crime is dropping except for gun crimes etc.

The only thing not mentioned was if we are locking up more criminals the crime rate must fall. Well for the habitual lot we a currently plagued with.

Locking up does work, it does one thing it keeps criminals off the street commiting more crime and gives areas peace and quiet.

Wonder how the Tories missed that opportunity to sound off on.

Do these figures take into account all the crimes that go unreported, as people know the police won't do anything?

Anyone who believes these figures has to realise that these figures can be manipulated to show whatever they want.

Also there was a change in the way sanctioned detections are recorded/targeted recently which would also have had an impact

Not to mention the crime that are reported but never issued crime numbers, as happened to me when I was a victim of Credit card fraud.

The government keep banging on about how crime is down. People know crime is up, we all know it. Streets are not a safe place to be after dark these days.

This Government has manipulated figures for it's own gain from the day they came to power. Just a few examples they've told us.

Majority of Britain's want the Olympic games in the UK
Majority of Britain's want more Speed, sorry safety camera's
Majority of Britain's want ID cards
Britain's welcome immigrants
Britain's want a multi-cultural society

Sorry, but Cameron is getting my vote, and judging by friends and work Colleges comments, he's getting theirs too

I don't think it's a case of whether you want the tories or not, it's just a case of getting rid of Labour.

there was an example I heard of today where mobile phone theft in some area are given only incident numbers and not crime numbers. This leaves the victim unable to claim on their insurance.

Handing out incident numbers means they are not recorded as a crime, statistics are being massaged. I wonder how many other crimes are only given incident numbers.

You wait and see, if the tories get in and change the system back to all crimes get a proper crime number brown will just say crime is up under the tories.

the crimes that really matter (tucked away as always) - violent/knife/gun crime and drugs-related crime - are all up, by 4% and 20% as i recall. dreadful.

cameron's right to call it. policing in this country is in a terrible mess and needs fixing. actions not platitudes please.

Is it just a little bit coincidental that the bi-elections are due soon?

What, we're only allowed to vote for candidates that swing both ways?

I have experianced 4 crimes in the last week, none have been reported. There is no way crime is going down people dont bother to report things as its a complete waste of time. no one gets sent to jail even if they do catch them

Which is why the British Crime Survey was invented many years ago. Which also shows a drop in crime...

If no one is being caught or sentanced why is the prison's overcrowded.

Must be one of them government statistics again.

Another we thought, if most of the criminals are on the dole or social, wonder if the costs of this saved against the cost of incarceration cancel each other out so it cost nothing to keep the people on the dole and social in prison forever.

Just a thought of course a dont want Mr Cameron pinching my idea, heavens above
