I was only talking about the Omega Man the other day whilst watching I am Legend

Ben hur, Ten Commandments, and several others, but I mainly remember him from Planet of The Apes, even the cameo in the remake

RIP

My main memories of him was when he kept showing up at high schools and colleges shortly after massacres, defending guns laws, in his role as president of the NRA. This I think greatly damaged his reputation.

To do with taking a gun out of his cold hand?

(I can't take the credit for it though, as it was done earlier on a thread that seems to have been vaped)

Do you mean you remember this, or you remember Michael Moore telling you this in his "documentary"?

Yes, Michael Moore isn't above messing with the facts to suit his own ends, but, although I find him quite annoying I am more on his side of the fence than the the Pro Gun lobby, we cant be trusted with easy access to firearms.

America are stuck with their situation, kids wandering to school every other other week and shooting each other say perhaps that guns shouldnt be so easily available.

So old Charlton Heston will be remembered mainly by the younger people as an old firearm enthusiast rather than for all the films he was in.

I'm 35 and to me he's 40% famous as the bloke the ape flick and 60% famous as the NRA nut.

He was a good actor and deserves a bit of respect at least.

Les, ok, respect for the acting, however, though he never actually shot anyone I think his organisation have a lot to answer for. I don't think that something he held so important in life can simply be brushed aside in death, in fact I think he would not want it to be, certainly by the pro gun lobby and if that is the case then the anti gun people still get their say as well, I think it is hypocritical to crticise or dislike whilst they are alive only to say how great they were when they die, ok a bit of respect but keep it credible.

Yes I was only talking about his acting and the entertainment he gave J4CKO.

I am certainly not pro gun myself, but I am afraid that if the present crime wave and violent behaviour is allowed to go unchecked in a significant manner, we might even find it necessary for us all to have some kind of a firearm to defend ourselves when it all gets out of control! So many young people let alone others carry firearms as well as knives illegally now we hear.

If it came to that it would be a travesty, but I think it could happen.

Well, I'm wondering if you remember this happening from personal experience or from another source.

I certainly don't remember it happening or being reported as happening. To say you remember it infers some personal experience, that's all.

I would hazard a guess that the last thread got vaped due to the insensitive title and first post by the thread starter in light of the recent passing of Ant (BEP)
