The 23-year-old, who said she had left school without a maths GCSE, said: "On one of my cards it said I had to find temperatures lower than -8. The numbers I uncovered were -6 and -7 so I thought I had won, and so did the woman in the shop. But when she scanned the card the machine said I hadn't.
says it all really and this thickar$e is a mother of the future, what hope the kids...

Also in the MEN, an article about the swimming pool.
It seems it's not only the young and uneducated who are thick.

Scary really.
I have to admit to annoying shoip assistants as if something costs $1.67 I will give them £2.17 to get rid of change in my pocket and hardly anyone understands and I have to tell them to just type it into the till*.
*With the exception of foreign people, make of that what you will.

Thats a bit harsh mate, forcing shop assistants to work out international exchange rates there and then just so you can buy some crisps and a mars bar

IQ is based on a Bell Curve, these people are from the left side, or "Bell End" as its known scientifically.
There are other species that would get that better than her.

We found this story at work a while back. We now use "I'm not having it" as our response to end all arguments. We reckon it could get you off murder.
Barister: "I put it to you that you were found standing over the body, holding a knife dripping with the victims blood in one hand and a smoking gun in the other. How do you plead?"
Me: "I'm not having it"

Now this is a real eye opener
More than 15m adults in Britain have poor numeracy - the equivalent of a G or below at GCSE maths
Almost three times as many UK adults (15.1m) have poor numeracy - the equivalent of a G or below at GCSE maths - than with poor literacy skills, according to the government's Skills for Life survey.
15million out of a total population of 65million (approx.) - shocking!

I understand to get grade 'G' you just need to ink your palm and place it on the exam paper to leave a mark and course work includes yelling "**** off you cant" at the teacher
And the gov't claims there is no dumbing down and we are getting more/better educated leaving our schools
Oh course we are with no discipline, easy life's, state to pay for those who choose do not wish to learn then earn and contribute - it all ad's up (even if they cannot)
