iphone question
Looking at one on ebay it`s unlocked to all uk networks but the seller states that "To avoid disappointment , I remind potential bidders that the telephone functionality on UK iPhones at launch will only work with a mobile contract from O2."
So to me this means my Virgin and T-Mobile sim cards will not work have anyone got one that they are not using on O2.

Don't bother, they are all hype, not got anything your Sony ericsons and Nokias haven't had for years.
Wait until Apple make a proper one, which like they normally do takes a couple of years after launching the original.

what the seller means is that some of the network features will not work if not 02 contactual. Visual voicemail etc.
But the iphones WILL work on other networks if unlocked.
Finally you have the issue of future firmware updates knocking out the phones or bricking them

Don't pay over the odds on ebay, unlocking a phone straight out of the shop is currently very simple. This tool ZiPhone's Blog works a treat.
As for phone being all hype, the poster obviously hasn't used one.

Well, as a Mac user for the last million years or so , I couldn't wait to get one.....
until I saw the specs/price etc. Even got ribbed about being a Mac fanboy on here by other mac users
I had a play with one, and the only thing I thought was useful was the email push function. That's the one advantage with the o2 contract - free data "time"
The rest of it, well, it's ok. Nothing special though.
Alot of hype IMHO. But as other posters have said, wait until Iphone 2 (or 3) - Apple will have learnt how to make one properly then
