Patrick Swayze diagnosed with pancreatic cancer; has five weeks to live | Showbiz Gossip, Showbiz News, Entertainment News - Showbiz Spy

Not good. Haven't really like many of his films but Point Break is awesome.

The wife will be upset with this. DD is her all time favorite film.

God, my missus is going to be gutted. You are right, Point Break was fantastic, he was pretty good in Donnie Darko as well.

The source for this info is "The National Enquirer" - not exactly known for its reporting of facts is it?

He's not got 5 weeks to live

His agent said reports that the Dirty Dancing star had only five weeks to live were "completely untrue".

The 55-year-old is currently undergoing treatment and is continuing with his filming schedule, he said.

Swayze, who also starred in the hit film Ghost, was diagnosed with cancer more than a month ago, the New York Post reported on its website.

His doctor George Fisher said in a statement: "Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far.

"All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue."

In 2006, Swayze made his London West End debut in the musical Guys and Dolls.

Swayze, who is also a trained dancer, started his career on stage and his big break was playing Danny Zuko in a Broadway production of Grease.

He is best known for his roles in the films Ghost and Dirty Dancing but returned to musical theatre in 2003 when he joined the Broadway cast of Chicago.

He seems like a pretty good chap seen him interviewed a few times, always comes across well.

Point Break is a great film also Road House enjoyable. Try Red Dawn, made in '82 (from memory) has a young Patrick in it along with a lot of the brat pack. WOLVERINES!

DD is a great chick film

Worse kind of cancer you can get apparently, personally think hes a really good actor apart from being a bit stiff with his facial expressions but hope he comes through it which it does sound like he has every chance possible

sad news indeed, 55 is just way too young to go out that way.
I am sure there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth from the female population at the news

Point break is class.... however I'll never forgive him for Dirty Dancing! Growing up with a younger sister and at the time only one tv and VHS in the house meant I was subjected to that tripe far too many times for my liking! Still may explain my great moves on the dancefloor now
