Default The Dreaded Green Pixel Strikes Again!

I don't belive it....Looking back at some pics I took with my camera....and there it was...

A GREEN PIXEL!

I flicked to some other pics in the album and there it was in the same place!

Oh no, I thought. I bought my monitor from DSGi...I'm screwed.

But then I looked at the pics on my other monitor- and it was still there, and it moved when I zoomed/dragged the picture..phew, not the monitor. Turns out the magic green pixel doesn't just affect monitors, it also affects digital cameras.

So, looks like I need a new camera

edit: its actually more of a white pixel - but when zoomed out it looks green

Some photo editing software can remove this sort of stuff automagically. Google something like "image noise reduction software". The 1st hit will be Neat Image - best noise reduction for digital cameras and scanners. Not used it myself but heard good things about it. There's quite a few software fixes for it. I know it sounds daft, but make sure there's not dust etc on the camera lens. Been caught out myself by the tiniest spec on the wifes compact.

Yeah, I've got photochop for that.

Seems the CCD on my camera has gone duff - Suspected something when when the white balance turned everything pink on the batch of pics I took before this lot.

Funny though, now I've spotted it, I can find the exact same singular pixel on almost every single photo: 1 pixel in 7,000,000

plenty of cameras have a duff pixel - more chance on a 8mp+ camera than a monitor which may have 2m pixels.
