Default Some people are gay...... get over it

Noticed this statement on a big billboard, as i drove home, apparently part of a campaign by Stonewall, the statement instantly made me think. "Most people are straight...now get over that".

What do i need to get over?? the fact that they are gay?, or the fact that they feel the need to tell me they are gay?

Do campaigns like this do any good or is it just blatant attention seeking, which if it was then it worked, it got my attention and got me to react in a way they probably weren't wanting.

Why is a hate crime worse than a "non-hate" crime?

Violence, theft, harassment or anything of that nature is despicable regardless of motivation.

The people that it is targeted at are probably going to become more resolute in their beliefs because of this. It has probably caused the opposite effect than intended.

If your style of life is such, then fair play.

BUT, I don't tell anyone I'm straight. I've never put an advert up saying so.

It's the extremist's that get on my nerves and let the genuine folk down IMO.

I know gays and I don't care if they are gays.

I don't see any problem.

That B3ta post is great

It's all just blatant attention seeking, same as all that gay pride crap - I couldn't give a crap what you want to ****, nothing to do with me, I don't need to know, and, quite frankly, I don't want to know. Sexuality is NOT an issue - but if you camp it up in front of me and talk about how you "just love" going to Elton John concerts.. I'm going to take the **** out of you. Now get over that.

Be careful, if the BBC are representative of real life then half the people you meet are probably shirtlifters. Perhaps that's why the birthrate in this country is dropping, gayness is an airbourne virus caught when spending any time in close proximity to someone already infected. I can think of no other logical reason for homosexuality.

Apparently there was a court case recently, where the verdict was that it ISN'T homophobic to abuse/take **** out of, a bloke you know is straight, by saying he is gay. Someone was offended by such behaviour and went to some tribunal type thing and lost. Not sure of exact details, I'll see if I can find it on t'interweb

The Employment Appeal Tribunal has, today, held that the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2003 do not prohibit homophobic banter against a heterosexual man who is known not to be gay.

The Claimant, who was heterosexual, was subjected to sexual innuendo by his colleagues to the effect that he was homosexual, even though they knew he was not. The 'joke' arose because he had (a) attended a boarding school and (b) lived in Brighton.

In English v Thomas Sanderson Blinds , HHJ Peter Clark held that the 2003 Sexual Orientation Regulations do not cover this form of 'homophobic banter'. He described the position as unsatisfactory and has given permission to appeal to the Court of Appeal.

No expert but isn't the poster asking for acceptance whereas your asking for violence?

Really?

They should also explain that if everyone went the way of the fairys, there wouldn't be anyone to teach!

And all this 'oh it's natural' crap makes me want to vommit.
It isn't natural, they shouldn't have the right to marry and yes, it is rather weird. Now get over that!

Not the most politically correct thing to say, but atleast i'm honest.

I reckon 99% of straight blokes feel exactly the same as that, they're just too scared to say it.

Things certainly have changed in the past 20 years for the worse Totally different country to what I grew up in, and I'm only 35. Can't say what you used to without it being ricidiously branded a 'hate crime'. It would be funny if it wasn't so utterly pathetic. Interestingly enough Chris, all the blokes I work with have the same attitude, so I'd assume most 'normal geezers' haven't been taken in by all this pc bs.

I wish all the good looking guys were gay.
That would leave all the good looking women for us normal guys.

Some couple this week have been banned from fostering children, because they refused to sign something to say they approved of gays.

WTF relevance is that to fostering some kid who's stuck in a children's home. I bet these do gooders don't go in and tell the child "we had a loving couple lined up for you, but because they refuse to promote homosexuality you will have to stay in care"!

This country is seriously screwed up!
