MOT Stress
Car been in for its MOT today and passed thank goodness.
Anyone else get stressed worrying about what might be wrong, waiting for them to say its ok?
Just like waiting for exam results all over again!
Or is it just me?

Know how you feel. Put the Mundano in for an MOT on Tues. Watching the emissions readings, and they were way over.
Lots of holding the revs, and voila, nice warm effective cat, and down the numbers went.
Passed with 2 advisories
Was expecting something to be up though. Was a CAT D, nice cheap runabout now for the doggie to go in

Soot burner went in on saturday (Seat toledo mk1)
I wasn't sure, as last year i needed a bit of welding near the subframe, The tester said then, that it if it was the other side, that had gone it would be big bucks, (fuel line would be needed to be stripped out before welding) He reckoned about £700 ish if that was the case
I only paid £1500 about 4 years ago for it, so its current value is much lower
anyway in it went..
and i was all ready watching cars on ebay just in case
Failed
one front tyre (looks like tracking) & an hours worth of welding on the rear sill (a small hole)
total cost inc mot £160
cant complain.
mechanically its sound, just the bodywork is starting to die
roll on next year
mart
mech wise it sailed through

My old 5 series goes in on Sat.
It's only done 1000 miles since its last and had no advisories then, so fingers crossed.
But, yes, friggin hate putting my old sh1tters in for their tests.

We were given an old shed to run as a tip-run car by Bob's Dad but the MOT was due to run out so, Bob took it down to get a new one. It failed spectacularly and was going to cost a few hundred quid to sort out and, as we were already the price of an MOT down on the deal we decided to scrap it instead
Bob drove it to the scrappy with me following (a fair distance away ) and much to our amazement the nice scrap man gave us £70 for it. As the MOT had cost us a mere £30 (trade price) we were £40 up on the deal

OP, I know what you mean - completely irrational but I get the same thing - its like waiting for results from the Doctors or something to come through.
Perhaps subconsciously we think that the garage are going to think we are ar5eholes because our car is a faliure ?
Saying that, mines never failed on anything big, just daft things that I forgot to check like the odd bulb going.
Besides, I know the car cant be that bad as when I got it back it had 4 miles extra on the trip meter, so someone had been 'borrowing' it to get the sandwiches at lunchtime !
