American hour long TV pap?

I make a point of avoiding it.
Has anyone else noticed that despite being eeked out to 4 seasons of 26 episodes, very little actually happens?
I remember reading a synopsis of every single episode, it ran to 250 words.
The only reason for this is to get you to watch the advertising.
No thanks.

Only just started CSI - it must of passed my by somehow, so for the moment, i'm loving it.
I've been meaning to post up about it actually. Is it really true to life with regard to the methods they use, and the information they manage to aquire? Sometimes, i just think surely not........

I watch them all apart from Law and order (all of).
Spend 6 months on a mountain in the Falklands with only 2 channels and your DVDs and i assure you, YOU WILL WATCH THEM and eventually get into them

Currently going through the 24 DVD's
Ive seen the first 4 seasons, but not seen 5 or 6 yet
I started watching CSI NY and it was ok, I dont really think the methods they use on there are really real (some artistic license methinks) however it was in the news recently that some folk had been caught committing a crime, and the reason they got caught was because they tried to hide their tracks after watching CSI

Shame they have cancelled season 7, but will be doing a season 8 instead and the currently filmed episodes of season 7 will go out as a special or bonus DVD at some point as they will not be finishing it
Also they are in talks for a 24 film, which will probably bring the series to a close, although rumour has it that the film was originally meant to be set between season 7 and 8

Think it was cancelled due to the writers strike, as they could not write any more of the current season, so they pushed it to next season. The same could well happen to Lost. They have the first 8 episodes done, but there were meant to be another 8, but they might get bumped to next year now.

He had agreed to do his time for drink driving over xmas to avoid missing the 24 filming or something like that, but then it became a moot point anyway as Markus has said with the writers strike
A lot of the actors in Season 7 have been contracted for other filming so could not continue with 24, so they are writing a brand new season

Bits that REALLY fek me off:
"House": Same story every night: odd illness and quirky illness arrive at the same time and are referred to House. The quirky one is for laughs and put-downs. Meanwhile House misdiagnoses the odd one. Then he misdiagnoses again. then again, Finally he gets it right, but by this time, has to convince the patient/her legal reps/her parents/her husband to allow him to do it. All ends well.
"CSI" (any): the UTTERLY daft way they all hold their torches, really to avoid blinding the camera), and the way they NEVER turn on lights but ALWAYS search for clues by torchlight. WTF? Is it an advert for Maglite?
"NCIS": Gibbs: "Run the DNA Abby".
Abby, (two minutes later): "OK boss, here are the results".
And if that lass that plays Abby isn't a horse, I've never seen one

Tell you what pi55es me off, the american trend of squeezing as many adverts as possible into a popular programme.
Anyone watch lost on sundays, programme starts and comes on for 3 minutes, then 6 minutes of adverts, then 10 minutes of programme, then 5 minutes of adverts.
Then you realise lost is only 39 minutes long and is designed for loads of adverts!
Its worse with premiership games, loads of build up, then just when the games about to kick off, all footballers on the pitch, ball in centre circle, ******* adverts come on for 5 minutes!
I dont want advertising rammmed down my throat 24/7
The trend of adverts being louder than the actual programme is annoying too, its so you can hear products being mentioned while you brew up apparently!
