Solo showers in jails boost CO2
Oh good god, just how desperate are the green lobby
Well **** a duck, there has been an increase of 2%. Feel those ice caps melt
Giving prisoners their own showers has forced up the government's carbon dioxide emissions, official statistics have shown.
Carbon emissions within former Home Office bodies, including the prison service, rose from 28,237 tonnes in 2005-06 to 28,925 tonnes in 2006-07.

The is just the thin edge of the "New World Order" edge. It will get very very silly in the next few years.
BTW, the edges of most ice fields/caps may be melting, but in many cases the ice is getting thicker.

True! Facts are dangerous, you only have to watch Al "I invented the internet" Gore's mocumentary to understand this.
What really concerns me, and it should concern every parent, is that the "facts" on climate and climate change aren't being taught in schools. Scary and slippery slope.

It would leave the newspapers and news channels a bit empty, but that would then be a success.
I think.

The media is not about broadcasting/printing anything of any actual use, it's about selling!!!!! Sex, scandal, disaster...SELLS!!!! Happy stories where everyone is fed, clothed, housed, not abused, well, a good citizen....just doesn't sell.
What I find ironic is the ever increasing number of internet based "climate change awareness" sites. Just think about the number of servers, backup servers, switches, routers, telephone networks and home PC's required to spread that "awareness" all comsuming ever increasing amounts of power.

I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with being more economic with our energy usage, or our CO2 emmisions - However, I feel there are probably bigger ecological fish to fry than this particular example.

Yes. Given the increase in "tonnage" reported, will it matter? No.
