Disposing of surplus office furniture

Disposing of surplus office furniture
During the next 2 years we have a programme at work to remove circa. 2000 desks and replace with smaller new items.
The intention is to make better use of space saving the company on building new offices to accommodate increased capacity.
The existing desks in question are 1800x1800 corner L-shaped items.
I've been tasked with finding a way of disposing taking into account:-
a. green disposal - not landfill
b. making money back (or at least break even)
So far the companies I have approached charge to collect by the tonne. Most of the furniture is very good quality and I'm sure could be sold on
Does anyone have any experience selling on surplus furniture?

There is a company called GA Armstrong up north who sell used office furniture, why dont you give them a call and see if they will make you an offer for the lot, i'm sure you could make a few quid out of it.
