HTC phones?
Starting to itch for a new phone/PDA. Unlike you lot who seem to get a new one free with your cornflakes every few months, I cough up 2-300 quid and keep mine for 3 years (because I make very few calls and we don't have such attractive contract offers over here).
What are your views on HTC phones? Particularly, robustness? I love the slide-out keyboards, but I've heard a couple of people say theirs died when they were dropped. Over 2-3yrs I unfortunately drop mine, erm, more than once. My Nokias and SEs have bounced quite well

Brendan take a look at the new SE Xperia X1. Same concept at the HTC slide phones. Due out Q3 though apparently.

HTC phones as a whole, very good indeed, practical, easy to use etc.
I had the HTC S710 a while back, there is now a replacement for that model with a funkier keyboard.
They get pretty ok reviews, and lots of support out there for them too.

Thanks all. STiWS, that's nice but I'm actually trying to get away from the physical keyboard, partly weight and partly another moving part to go wrong. Interesting to see that SE are moving to Windows though.
Turns out a colleague in my office has a Touch Cruise, so I had a quick look yesterday. Coool. He's really happy with it, had it about a month after his Touch got nicked, so he's used to the OS and really likes it. I'm not sure if it wasn't a bit slow to react at times though.
No-one has comments on the dropability of them then?
