Default How Cold?

Went out to drop the mrs off somewhere this morning at 7.15 and the temperature guage is reading -7!. Even with half an hour of driving it had only warmed up to -6, must be bloody freezing everywhere.

Time to get back in and get the heating on.

Anyone else had a really cold reading today?.

-5ºC in Wakefield when I left w*rk at 6.30, -2ºC at home in Leeds.

Apparently it's to do with global warming, so they say on the BBC anyway. I just thought it was winter

-11 in NY a few days ago...and that was without factoring in the wind chill...so was maybe -16 or so. Par for the course for a NY winter though.

Landed in uk last nite, and it FEELS a hell of a lot colder and more uncomfortable in the uk last nite/this morning...even though its not... ...
Go figure...

Higher humidity.

I've heard a Russian say the coldest he's ever felt in his life was in the Lake District.

I feel very sorry for the poor sods that signed up for the Hardwick x-stream this year: 6 mile cross-country run with 4 river crossings. It was cold enough when I did it last year...

At least if the ground is frozen, there won't be daft specatators losing their wellies in the mud by the start line this year.........that was fun seeing that guy's face as he realised he was stuck and the race was due to start in 5 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went down to -5.6 according to my outdoor thermometer.

The thing that really gets up my nose is that when temps are above the average, the weatherman is always sure to make a point of it and look all concerned whilst telling us. However, when normal lows are breached like this, then they conveniently don't even give it a mention. Global warming swindle anyone?

According to "climatologists" a cooling Europe is due to an excess of ice melt from the Arctic flowing in to the sea and "cooling/slowing" down the Atlantic conveyor. It's all in another scientific documentary film call "The Day After Tomorrow".
