Is there anything that can be done from an HR point of view in relation to the above ?

It doesnt affect the business & nothing happens during working time ?

I cant see how.

one of my friends whilst working at egg, shagged the manager, and in his words "made the fat bitch scream."

she was married and everyone knew about it, and nothing was ever said again.

if they do say something they need to drag their ***** into touch its 2008 not 1948.

Not offcially no, but i have seen on one occasion the company put pressure on the individual(s) involved in a legal way but do it well enough to make there position untenable......so you (or your mate ) should be wary of things being said if your job is more important to you than the woman involved.

Appologies for my last post if it is inaccurate and you are uphill gardening with Tarquin from accounts!

Well.... depends if you are a manager as ******** a member of your team although not technically against the rules is something you can be moved or even removed for. They see it as a conflict of interests !

In my work place:
My Bosses, bosses boss is sleeping with a Help desk analyst; HIS boss is sleeping with the Procurement manager; the receptionist is sleeping with one of the engineers, one of the business support girls is sleeping with one of the desktop projects engineers.

But then, the first two are married to each other, as are the second, the third couple are engaged (and living together) and the last pair are 'just' dating.

I think it would be kind of hard to bring any kind of action on anyone in this place

I find the image that this post creates offensive!

Its usually frowned upon (or worse), but there isnt anything that can actually be done for the most part, apart from a a little self-important and prudish bullying by the HR depeartment. I assume that your contract of employment doesnt specifically mention this Stephen?

Its usually not ethical and does create confilcts of interest, it is (or has been in most cases where I have worked) company policy that members of staff are not allowed to fraternise/date etc etc with each other, if this does happen then the relevant line managers must be informed so that certain descions can be made

That tends to only happen in the larger corporate type companies whereby one of the staff will usually get transferred to avoid conflicts of interest etc

That said the company I work for now, the MD has his wife looking after the legal side of the business (we see her once a month, but she is on the payroll) the Tech Directors wife works for us (again only see her once a week and she doesnt work fridays ) both of those work from home and we have the woman on reception her hubby works out on the road

there was one sales guy who was constantly sniffing round the girl in accounts he got sacked though

Anyway how many times have you slept with her ?

Considering most meet their partners at work, I'd say it wasn't much of a problem. Only becomes a problem if a you are sleeping with someone who reports to you....that can cause conflicts. If a relationship like this became serious, then it's only fair that a change of department take place, or someone leaves.

In my experience, can depend on whether one partner may work in a financial function, with the other having some reporting responsibilities in to them.

Also, if senior 'officers' of the company are together. Possibility of misappropriation of funds, or a management risk where they may leave together, or collude, or whatever the company may be scared of.

Perceived as a risk to the company.

On a less serious note, many years ago got a farewell **** from my boss (female by the way) after my leaving do.

We were drunk as skunks and at it all night. She taught me a thing or two as easily one of the dirtiest women I have ever met. Screamed the whole place down too. My flatmates AND the people downstairs heard the whole thing! Very amusing.

Risk to the business was that she was fairly inoperable at work the following day. I of course, had the day to sleep it off.

Happy days.
