WHEN & WHERE SHOULD I BUY MY US DOLLARS
I'm going to Orlando, Florida in June and not sure if I should buy my travel money now or leave off
Mid last year the £1 was worth $2 but currently it's slightly less. I'm undecided wether to buy my dolars now or wait?

In reality, unless your changing £1000's its unlikely to make too much of a difference who you change them with. However WHEN you change them is far more important and likely to make a bigger difference.
You could of course charge up a pre paid credit card with stirling and just use that out there. Or of course draw cash from the ATM's as and when needed.
Total charges for credit card useage and ATM withdrawls for last year when we were out there for 2 weeks was under a tenner.
That way you get the daily exchange rate
Unless of course the dollar dives again, then buy buy buy.
We bought Dominican Pesos when we went away the other week. 12,000DP for £106
On returning we had 2850DM left..... which I just exchanged for £45..
Oh how exchange rates fluctuate.

Definatly, and given the way you end up randomly stumbling across a shop and buying things, carrying large amounts of cash is never a good idea. Especially if you get caught in a "summer shower" lol

I have always used Travelx online and either collected prior to departure or when I get to the airport to fly out, always worked out cheaper for me as I like having it in my hand {so to speak }

I will be taking cards but want £400's worth of dollars when the dollar is at it's weakest. Using a cash machine is OK but that's if the dollar is still weak when I'm there
Thanks for the advice everyone

Last time I was out there, I didn't have a single dollar on me until I shoved my Nationwide card in the atm at the airport state side.
Not sure that's quite a good idea, as I should have taken enough to get a taxi from the airport to the hotel, but I forgot
But Nationwide don't charge (or didn't)
