World Heading for Severe Recession?..
BBC NEWS | Business | Warning about US economic slump
Looks like the asset bubbles really are deflating big-time! Massive drops in share prices, and in the US in the housing market too. UK housing market appears to be following the same path as the US so - 10% year-on-year drops before the end of 2008 is surely a very realistic possibility.
People who've ridden the massive asset bubbles to the top, and sold and put their proceeds into cash/gold are going to make a KILLING in the next few years!!!
"severe recession" that could last for a whole 12 months.
Instead of tackling asset bubbles like inflated housing and stock markets head-on, they waited until the bubble had burst and then cleaned up afterwards.

Aren't all the other threads you have started/been talking in sufficient to cover this? Do we really need yet another thread on the same topic with the same opinions from the same people?

Hmm,
A severe recession would be longer than 12 months surely?
10% year-on-year drops before the end of 2008 is surely a very realistic possibility.
so thats a 10% drop for 2008? or is it a mispelling and supposed to be month on month or even day on day i am a little confused or should the 2008 be 2009 and 2010 and so on but if we are only having a 12 month recession things would pick up after 12 months and start to look back to normal.
maybe I think too much but it don't make sense to me...I would however agree a correction is currently going on and something needs to be done to stabalise things but I find it hard to believe that it is going to be 'that' bad.

I'm amused by the fact that I seem to have received an infraction for this post!!
This system really doesn't do much for Scoobynets credibility!
