Default Diet drugs - anyone tried Reductil?

I'm doing fine on the conventional diet since Jan 2nd and have lost 5Lbs and am including a bit more excercise. So the purpose of this thread isnt for tips on conventional diet/excercise/willpower/gym bunnies over-inflated sense of self-esteem/long term lifestyle (been there, done that).

No, all I'm asking is if anyone 'cheated' and tried this appetite suppresant, and if so did it work and was it safe? I am half considering helping nature along by 'cheating for 3 weeks in the run up to the wedding pics! Be fab to lose a stone as well as my freedom and pension

Don't know much about Reductil TBH so would recommend doing a bit of research (not on SN).

IMO, you wouldn't have much benefit in 3 weeks.

The best pills that you can buy are EPH 25+ but there are side effects and apparently if you have a bad heart can be a bit dodgy.

Yeah - I have done that mate, and am tempted. However SN is the fount of all knowledge and quite a cross section of the public (no pun intended). D

as Chief recommended, you could probably shed a few using an ephedrine stack. I don't know how to get them legitimately any more though.

Just prepare for to feel wired for a few weeks though.

do a google on 7DFB. You can only use this for 7 days
It stands for 7 Day Fat Burner. It wont actually lose you fat, but will lose you weight. Reports of over a stone in a week on the stuff. It isnt really a fat burner though, just a diuretic (very strong one allegedly)

Not looking for matabolism boosters guys - that ephedrine is not for me. Tried some many years ago - makes you edgy and aggressive. Its a bit like holding your car in 2nd when you should be in fourth... D

Default Reductil

My ex used to use this, and it's does come with some pretty hefty side effects.

Increased blood pressure, and SEVERE aggression!

By a twist of fate, I now work for the company that makes it, but don't be expecting hand outs. Tightly controlled production areas.

Ephedrine does the job but it makes you sweat like a b1tch and can seriously mess up your sleep patterns.

If you want to shed a pile of weight over 2-3 weeks, do a protein only diet. No carbs and as little fat as you can get away with, so grilled meat, chicken and fresh fish, boiled or poached eggs etc etc. Its like Atkins without the hardened arteries. You will lose loads of fat. If you can be arsed to bang in an hour or two on the treadmill every day, you shouldn't suffer from a loss of energy towards the end of the first week. Bro in law used to do this when he was competitive body building and gould go from spare keg to 6 pack in 2 weeks. I usually do it for 10 days before holidays so you can see the speedos below the beer belly

I'm on reductil at the moment, and have been for about 5 weeks. It seemed to work well at the start but the effect has worn off over time (or I've gotten used to it).

I'm currently on 10mg per day, I'll be going back to the doctor next week and maybe they'll increase it a little.

Side effects, it's hard to say really. I suffer from mood swings, anxiety and depression anyway, I think it's made all slightly worse but I couldn't be definitive. For some people it increases blood pressure, but for me it didn't.

I'm not sure if they prescribe this purely if you're overweight, I was under the impression it was to tackle eating disorders such as bulimia. I'm not sure how effective it is on average, but for me it's certainly no "miracle cure".

The other thing that doctors sometimes prescribe is Xenical/Orlistat. This is something different that acts to prevent your body metabolising a proportion of the fat in your diet, it doesn't kill appetite whatsoever. It does work but the side effects are horrible. It means you pass fats straight through without digesting them. So if you decide to pig out on pizza and ice cream, you run the risk of farting and following through with about half a pint of foul smelling oil, which stains anything it touches and doesn't esily flush down the toilet. Also the oil is body temperature, so if you do fart, you can't easily tell iff you've followed through or not - so you end up legging it to the bog to check just in case.

Forget being suicidal, the fear of that happening in public is truly terrifying!

Thanks for that Needa (I think). I had heard of Xenical, but all I'm looking for is something to make me a happy man with 1 grilled fish finger rather than the usual 3 - and that for a very short short term . Doesnt sound as if Reductil it is much cop in your opinion though and it's very expensive. Think I'll give it a miss and compromise on two fish fingers and a corset then

I've prescribed rimonabant (as well as orlistat and sibutramine) to my patients. All of them have a range of side effects, and efficacy varies from weight gain to weight loss on all of them, probably depending on how motivated the patient is. Sharting, suicide or being overweight, pick your poison

Alli is just a half dose of orlistat, so you'll get, oh what shall we call them, "semisharts"
