Liverpool capital of culture displays tomorow ?
Apparently they are having some big live displays tomorow in Liverpool to celebrate the launch of the cities capital of culture 08.
What do you think the live displays will be.
1) Putting a car on bricks and similar to a F1 team they will demonstrate how quickly they can remove the wheels and leave it on bricks.
2) Demonstrating how quickly they can smash a car window and get inside and remove the stereo and sat nav.
Any other offerings ?

Oh **** that means traffic into work will be $hite tomorrow then
It makes me laugh they must have spent a fortune on repainting the flyover over the end of the M62 at Queens drive, and sticking a projector up and signs saying welcome to liverpool
You can only see it at night, and most people go into liverpool in the day

We have a new 'sign' - well, ok, graffiti- in Southport, as you come in on the train-
"scouser on tour, mind your jor"
our only hope is that their reading is as bad as their spelling, and they won't be clever enough to read the word 'exit' at the station.....
real pleased I live 8 miles south in the posh bit (where you just get your cars stolen)

Does anyone know the criterion for applying for this coveted award?
High crime and being disregarded as a place to live, along with low house prices, and general decay must help.
A definite **** hole.

I dont know what the criteria is
What I cant understand is that they have loads of signs up on Edge Lane (most of the roadworks) saying that Welcome to Liverpool Capital of Culture, making it easier to get into the city (or words to that effect)
Now call me stupid, but all they have done along the entire Edge Lane road is replace the kerb stones with new ones, how will that make it easier to get into the City, a few extra lanes of road would help immensly
I know the houses were meant to be knocked down but the residents protested and got to keep them

The city of liverpool has the most listed buildings outside of london in the country for one, it has the oldest chinese community as well, the architecture is second to none(name a city with better a building than st george's hall?) the waterfront is probably the most famous in the country, the 'real' scousers are also 2nd to none.
ok flame suit on an ill sit back now

one very quick example for you, the grand national was called off due to bomb threats(no it wasnt scousers) who opened there doors? yes all the scousers did, they let total strangers into there houses and fed them as well as giving them a bed for the night, most people and cities would not of even contemplated it. the 'real' people of liverpool are proper salt of the earth. dont just take the people you see on tele as the proper scousers, we can all pick bad things about other cities, is this just the usual jelousy i can sense here
sonic loves the city that much he drives for hours to work here

Yep Church Street, home of the Polish Big Issue Sellers lol
Nope they are all brand new computers, took me two days drag them into that room and unbox all of them
Not sure if the electrics meets H & S standards though, I had to go to Wilkies and buy about 20 6 way adapters for 2 quid a piece so I could power them all on
