Miami / Keys / South Florida
Looking for some hints & tips for the "Must Do / See" attractions in Southern Florida.
The wife and I have decided to take a trip down there in a few weeks time and I thought it would be a great starting point to ask if you happy people have any recommendations?
Anyone got any insite into decent hotels ?
I think the plan is to stop off for a while near Miami Beach then down to the Keys.

I could talk for hours on this!
What I liked when I was there:
Miami, South Beach, stayed in a luxury mansion down there, in Biscayne Bay, had Gloria Estefan as a neighbour - Superstar living.
Few minutes from South Beach, best place for some of the most beautiful women in the World, but unless your're driving something very flash, they appear not interested.
Ocean Drive was a great place to go out, hundreds of bars restaurants etc, I liked the News Cafe - queues to get in there for breakfast, but worth it, some bar called Mango, where the Cuban waitresses greeted you in their bikini's, didn't mind if you gawped, took photo's, whatever!
Hooters in Bayside - need I say more? Well, well, worth it.
Went out to the sticks and saw some wild alligators, from one of those airboat thingy's.
Went down to Key West for a drink at Sloppy Joe's. Stayed overnight, really nice.
And that was just South Florida! All brilliant stuff, I loved it. Not as seedy as I perhaps made it out to be. I was with the Missus all the time, she took it all in her stride.

Went to South Beach in 2002. Made the mistake of going in June (rainy season 
). Although it was sunny half of the time.
Only went for a week so didn't budget to hire a car which was another mistake as everywhere other than Ocean Drive strip is a long walk...
As Asif says Ocean Drive has great bars. There are some good clubs to seek out to if you're in to that thing. Nikki Beach, Opium Gardens, Bed, all amazing places and very pricey so take plenty of cash!
Oh yeh, 25-29 March is the Winter Music Conference.
