Default Poodle Attack on Police Officer

I posted this in the Rotty thread but think it deserves its own thread tbh, should shut up all the people who think its always the Rotty or Pit Bull at the centre of dog attacks. Conclusive proof Poodles can be dangerous too

No you are right, amend it to usually rather than always, besides (and I couldnt get to the page as it was Websensed) if it was a Standard Poodle they are known for being a bit unpredictable.

I would want to bite people if they trimmed me to look like a Topiary Privet bush.

True, my wife is a Veterinary Nurse and says that she has had far more small dogs ie Yorkie's etc go for her whilst working with them than big dogs.

The unfortunate fact of the matter is that you are hardly going to be savaged to within half an inch of your life by a Yorkie!!

if a dog is going to bite you it will bite you no matter of the breed, I can only talk from my experience when it comes to rottweilers, mine is as soft as poop hes literally scared of his own shadow! it goes without saying that you dont leave him alone with children and generally when people come round I put him outside unless hes calm around them as he gets over excited and runs about like a loon which in itself is not great as hes BIG!

It wasn't a Standard Poodle but sounded like a toy or miniature used like a handbag, being swung around by it's back legs at the officer.

Standard Poodles can be trained to be good protection dogs. Of course it would look a little like having Dale Winton as your personal bodyguard but maybe the element of surprise would be a bonus?
