Default Driver Training

Hi Guys,

Has anyone done anything like this before?

I would love be taught how to drive my STi properly in the safty of an airfield with the aim to maybe taking a trip to the ring in the future once i can drive properly.

So what is the format of these driver training days? and are they really worth it.

TBH just blasting round a track on my own isn't really that appealing as i wouldn't really gain anything or improve my driving skills. (although im sure i would have fun )

Hi mate

I have done that one twice now, and can recommend it very very highly

Have a look on SIDC as they are organising one of these for Feb. (They do quite a few each year via Track Masters)

I've done rally tuition with a pro rally driver and Roadcraft tuition with a Police class 1 pursuit trainer and they are the single biggest performance improvements I've ever done. Best bit is they are mods you take with you for life, so you don't lose a fortune when you sell up

Yeah, I fancy doing this at Knockhill in a few months.

Will probably use my own car - more cost for brakes and tyres, but I'd like a better idea of what it's like on the limit !

What about other costs - are costly mechanical probelems on tracked Scoobs more or less common than any other car ?

I tracked my Scoob about 5-6 times over 3 years and never had a problem. The RE070 tyres eventually killed a wheel bearing, but that's why 05 STi's on had stronger units fitted.
