Default Cost of living in Ireland

Hi,
I am thinking of moving to Ireland, what's the cost of living like (accomodation/food etc.) as compared to the UK? What about income on tax, is it better or worse than UK?
Thanks

Income tax
20% upto E43k (married couple or 34k single).
41% on everything else.

Depends where you live for cost of living, Dublin can be very expensive. The west coast can be cheaper but dont expect it to be a lot cheaper than here.
My in laws are from Ireland and from what I understand the overall cost of living is a bit cheaper there but the standard of life is not quite as good, esp if you are from a rural area.

Oh, by the way an average 1800cc car will cost about E500 to tax and insurance will be a lot higher than the UK.

Road tax on anything over 3000cc is E1300....

Are there any websites where I can look for houses/appartments for sale/rent to get a feel of the prices in Dublin?
I have heard that it is not as expensive as London but more expensive than other places in UK.
Thanks
